Queen Mary 2 Holiday

Hi all welcome to Griza.co.uk

The bellow blog is being re-blogged from my old website so it might be a little outdated.

During august 2006 i went on the Queen Mary 2 with my family. The Cruise was a 14 night trip around the Mediterranean During which we stoped at the following destinations.
Vigo
Vigo QM2
Vigo Exit
Vigo was the first stop of the trip and for me was possibly the most boring place on earth (sorry for the negative start) because all that the place had to offer was shopping and its not even like they were impressive shops just clothes. The worst part about it is the fact that i have to go back there this year on a different cruise lol so i think i am just going to stay on the boat this time and drink.
Barcelona

Me at Goudi's Church
Goudi
Barcelona was one of the stops that i was really looking forward to because of all the great sites there was too see for example Goudis church and the Olympic stadium, once again there were shops and lots of them but i managed to find a shop that sold Tag Heuer watches (real ones) very cheaply, so i had to investigate.
Canne

Canne Harbour

Canne was an amazingly beautiful place it had some amazing scenery but unfortunately i did not get to spend much time there because me and dad decided to go on the day excursion to the principality of Monaco.
Monaco

The F1 tunnel in Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo Casino
F1 Tunnel in Monte Carlo

Monaco Hair Pin
The Hair Pin

Monte Carlo Hotel

This was my second favorite stop of the trip after the infamous Rome, this place is absolutely breath takeing the only problem is you only really need a day to see all of the sights but that could be streached to two if you wanted to take your time. Monaco is split into two halves Monaco itself which is at the top of the Monaco Hill and Monte Carlo which is where the Grand Prix circuit is aswell as the Monte Carlo casino and hotel (see pictures). The highlight of the day for me was seeing the F1 circuit and walking its length with my dad also managing to get some great shots of the various stages of the track.
Rome
St Peters
Trevi Fountain

Rome was by far the best stop on the journey and i would love to visit this city again the sheer scale of some of the buildings mixed with thier historical importance is astounding im not going to say much about this im just going to show you pictures instead.
Pisa

Pisa

Pisa was another of Italy’s amazing stops essentially there is only one thing you want to see in Pisa an that is the leaning tower but the thing that struck me about the tower is how close it is to the center of Pisa itself because in photos it always seems to be in its own space but in reality it is very close to many shops and restaurants and is also close to the cathedral that it belongs to because it is actually a bell tower for those of you who didn’t know.
Gibraltar

Gibralta

The great rock, This is a must for anybody who has a spare day when you are traveling through the mediterranean because all of its inhabitants can speak English and the currency is the pound oh yea!! but seriously there are some really neat things to see and do here for example the caves and the monkey habitat you have to be careful of them though because i have been told they do bite and are known to steal things that are not attached to you.
Lisbon

Lisbon

Unfortunately Lisbon was a bit of a let down for me because we did not get to spend much time here and what i did see of the city was just shops but i would like to go back and explore the place in more detail.
The Queen Mary 2

Queen Mary 2

This was the best holiday i have had ever and was well worth the hefty price tag that comes with the holiday i would recommend to anyone to give cruising a chance purely because of the amazing number of sights you can see from one hotel lol.
